  • Korean Conflict: June 27, 1950 – January 31, 1955
  • Vietnam (In Country): February 28, 1961 – August 4, 1964
  • Vietnam (All): Aug 5, 1964 – May 7, 1975 
  • Gulf War: Aug 2, 1990 – through a future date

Discharge Status requirement is No dishonorably discharged.

However, The Disability Status requirement states that they can be Eligible without a disability. Those who have a disability are paid a higher benefit rate

Two Married Veterans=$3,536 per month

Veteran with one dependent (Married)=$2642 per month

Single Veteran=$2229 per month

Surviving Spouse=$1432

What are the Medical Requirements or Diagnosis

In addition, a doctor will need to give a medical diagnosis stating that he/she requires regular assistance with activities of daily living.

What activities of daily living do they need assistance with? In other words, Activities of Daily Living or ADLs refer to the basic self-care tasks an individual does on a day-to-day basis. Similarly, these activities are fundamental in caring for oneself and maintaining independence.

  • Bathing and Grooming.
  • Dressing and Undressing.
  • Meal Preparation and Feeding.
  • Functional Transfers.
  • Safe Restroom Use and Maintaining Continence.
  • Ambulation.
  • Memory Care and Stimulation (Alzheimer’s and Dementia)

What is the Processing Time

However, Currently Processing times can vary for each applicant. At approval, the applicant will be retro-paid to the initial date of application.

As a result, have applications reviewed by a Veteran representative to avoid rejection of the application.
