Sailing into Friendship in early September for A Blissful Girls’ Getaway in the fall of the year with Carnival Cruise Lines from Galveston, Texas.
The anticipation began with a scenic drive down to Galveston, where the air was filled with the promise of another fantastic girls’ trip. The arrival in Galveston was not as planned, as there was an enormous gathering of bikers’ convention going on that weekend. We found it hard to even drive to our hotel, The Tremont House, a tribute historical hotel for the night! The overnight stay in Galveston set the tone for the festivities to come, creating a prelude of excitement before boarding the Breeze Cruise ship. This fall, escape for a 5-day cruise to Mexico, filled with laughter, adventure, and unforgettable moments.

Custom Quirks and the Price of Security
Little did the four of us know that the customs checkpoint held a surprise in store. Two carefully selected bottles of true fine wine, intended for celebration on the open seas, were confiscated by the diligent customs officers. And a brand-new steamer, a seemingly innocuous addition to the luggage, met a similar fate in the trash bin. Though a small setback, it became a tale to share and laugh about throughout the journey.
Seas, Smiles, and Sunsets

Once on board, the Carnival Cruise ship became a blooming haven of joy. The group reveled in the attentive wait staff, turning each meal into a culinary delight. The mist over the Gulf of Mexico provided a breathtaking backdrop to their newfound sea-bound camaraderie. Although our balcony was to have been joined, they were not. Another brief setback, but we adapted by putting all the chairs on one balcony. As the ship glided through the waves, the shared laughter of four friends echoed against the vastness of the ocean.
Entertainment Extravaganza
The cruise offered a variety of entertainment options that catered to every taste. From dazzling stage shows to the thrill of an art auction, casino, and card games in one of the bars, called The Red Frog. While no artwork adorned our cabins, the memory of one friend playfully raising her paddle at the auction lingered as a cherished moment of the trip.
Mexican Adventures in Cozumel, Cancun and Playa del Carmen
Excursions in the Mexican ports of call added a layer of cultural exploration to the trip. Cancun’s adventure in a Mexican Pharmacy, In Cozumel a trip to the ruins the kicking at Playa del Carmen. Each port brought new experiences, leaving the friends with a mosaic of memories from their Mexican escapades.

Conclusion Sailing into Friendship
As the ship sailed back into the port of Galveston, the four friends disembarked with hearts full of gratitude. The shared moments of joy, the beauty of Mexico, and the resilience to find humor in the face of confiscated treasures.
The fall girls’ trip became more than a cruise. It was a celebration of friendship. The discovery of the magic that unfolds when great friends set sail together on the open seas. We look forward to planning for our next girls’ trip, whether on land or sea. Plans were already being discussed as we traveled back to Denton. Where will you go on your next adventure?
