My 2021 Vision Board

Creating a space that displays what you want actually does bring your board to life. What we see and focus on expands our minds. You create a vision board and place it in a space where you see it often. By doing so, you are doing short visualization exercises throughout the day.

Visualization is one of the most powerful mind exercises !!!

Visualization is one of the most powerful mind exercises you can do! According to my research, The Law of Attraction is forming and it is doing that through your thoughts.

When you visualize you emit a powerful frequency out into the Universe. Whether you believe or not, we know that visualization works!

Olympic Athletes and Visualization

Olympic athletes have been using it for decades. This helps them improve their performance. Reports today show that the brain patterns activated when a weightlifter lifts weights are similar to brain patterns activated when the lifter just imagined (visualized) lifting weights.

What is the Secret to Creating Vision Boards?

So what is the big secret to creating vision boards that work? Your vision board should focus on how you want to feel, not just on things that you want.

It is great to include the material stuff, too. However, the more your board focuses on how you want to feel and accomplish the more it will come to life.

Here’s an example to think about. I have a picture of someone getting a massage on my vision board. Not because I want to open a massage studio but because I love the way I feel with excitement and after a massage. It’s one of the first things I do on vacation…find a great spa. I added pictures of the beach and travel to my board. These are where I find incredible energy and motivation. I add affirmations and positive quotes as they put off good vibes. I always have a word of the year in the center of my board. This year the word is consistency. Seeing this in the center helps keep me on track.

I want to continue vacations with family and friends so there might be pictures or something to remind me of these.

The One Major Rule of Vision Boards

There is only one major rule for vision boards that work. That rule is there are no rules! You are not going to mess one up!! You can create your vision board on your own terms.

Questions and Answers

What should I put on my Vision Board? We have already discussed some things you can choose. Anything that inspires or motivates you. The purpose of a vision board is to bring everything. Start by thinking of things in these areas. ( Relationships, Family, Career, Finances, Home, Travel, Health and Fitness, Travel, Personal Growth, Social Life, Education and maybe even Spirituality.) You don’t have to do all of them and they don’t have to be done the same way, just take a mental inventory of what you want each of those areas to look like. Write them down! Handwriting your goals instead of typing them. There is something energetic about writing goals down. Then think about what you want on your vision board.

Remember what you focus on expands. You will be amazed at how things start happening once you set the intention for what you want and how you want to feel !!!

Someone asked me should they have more than one vision board. Well, that is totally up to you…there are no rules. I like to have just one board personally in my office where I see it on the wall in front of me. There are other types of boards like theme boards some people make for other areas of their homes (usually much smaller boards).

The main question people ask

How often should I redo my board? Remember there are no rules. Anytime you want but for me, I do one for the new year each year.

What kind of board do you use? Again there are no rules. Some like a corkboard so it can be reused each year. I prefer a canvas board which I got a 24×24 at Michaels for maybe $10-$12. But just basic poster board works too.

The tools you will need to have to get started are scissors, tape, glue sticks, stickers or cutouts from magazines, sayings or affirmations, and photos to embellish and make you feel good. Most importantly, the stuff you want to look at every day.

Give yourself time and a stress-free hour or two to put your board together.

Invite a friend over and make a party out of it. I can tell you it sets the tone for the evening as everyone is focused. Turn off the TV and turn on some relaxing music. Light a candle and clear your space. Open a glass of fine wine, maybe have a cheese tray.

When it comes to putting things on your board leave some space between items because it clouds the mind. Lay everything out and see what makes the final cut. Relax snap out of stress enjoy the fun of making a vision board.

Conclusion

Vision boards work! Having a vision board part can be fun. Setting your goals for the year is made clear. It’s a great thing to teach children how to do and teach them the relationship between visualization and the universe.

Will you make a vision board? I did! Hope you enjoyed learning more about the power of vision.

Other Types of Crafting

I have a good friend who had the vision to start her own crafting parties and she has. Her parties are casual, usually with wine and appetizers, often in a small restaurant with 5-10 people. You need to check out these crafts as they are so much fun to do and she has an online order as well so you can do these craft kits in your own home. They are lots of fun for children, grandparents, and seniors, and crafts for senior communities.
