How this virus attacks the brain and nerves still hasn’t become clear. But I can tell you it does! I suffered Covid over the holidays and I still find that I don’t think as clearly or maybe now and then have dyslexia which I never had before!

WHAT SCIENTISTS HAVE FOUND

It appears scientists have found that the virus travels in the bloodstream. It “baths” the brain and spinal cord. We have learned that it induces all kinds of damage to different parts of the brain. “Brain Fog”, splitting headaches and overwhelming fatigue. Appearing to “suck” oxygen nearly starving cells. We know that this virus can cause blood clots in the lungs.

Four-fifths of patients hospitalized with Covid-19 will have neurological symptoms. Scientists are currently studying the effects on the brain for cognitive effects long term

We know that flu, measles, and other viruses have affected cognition. These are usually only slight headache, joint , muscle pain, and dizziness.

Covid-19 can affect people in lots of different ways. It wreaks havoc on just about organ system in our bodies. It can have devastating short- and long-term neurological complications.  How these brain changes effect us sets the stage for more serious long term cognitive decline and dementia is unknown.

WHAT CAN WE DO ABOUT IT? RESILIENT BRAIN

First, we need to “feed our brains daily”.

It has been said that there are factors that possibly could help us condition our brain.

1. Maintain social connection in a physically distance world.

2. Eat for resiliency.

Follow anti-inflammatory diets such as Mediterranean regimen may additionally be beneficial against infection itself.

 3. Move around more. Exercise remains a key to mental sharpness.

Exercise can counteract the negative effects of isolation and confinement stress on immune function. This ultimately helps protect the brain.

4. Boost your immunity through SOUND SLEEP!

Our sleep habits have changed throughout the pandemic because of shifts in our normal routines. However, now is not the time to lose sleep!!! Sleep is your secret weapon. Sleep refreshes and replenishes tissues and cells among them those of our brain and immune system.

5. Ward off anxiety and fear by learning something new daily.

And if this isn’t enough, aren’t we all looking for the “fountain of youth”? Well, we have it here for you in the latest product in bio-hacking, YOUTH.

Conclusion: These are just some of the reasons SLEEP is so important every day but especially during COVID-19.
