What Are Churros ? What do they taste like ? Churros taste like fried dough. These are usually fried with sunflower oil. There are different types of churros but the most common are those called “tejeringos” or “porras” (name changes depending on the location) with a taste closer to fried pastry and a bit salty.

Tacos, all things taco, people are going crazy over tacos. If you don’t have tacos on Tuesday it is like you are committing  a major crime!. Especially if you live in Texas ! Tacos are available for making at home or eating out but believe me you’d better have your Tacos on Tuesdays !

The final result is much better than oven “frying” . The air fryer is #1 in mock deep frying. But if you don’t normally eat deep-fried foods, it’s probably not worth spending the money on for you.

Reuben Sandwich in Air Fryer

Serves 2

Ingredients :
4 slices rye bread 10 slices corned beef 3 T of sauerkraut (with caraway seeds) 4 T Thousand Island dressing 4 slices of Swiss cheese Butter-flavored cooking spray

Directions :
1. Spray the outer sides of each slice of rye bread. 2. Arrange the corned beef on 2 of the slices of rye bread. Evenly spread sauerkraut on top of the corned beef and drizzle on Thousand Island dressing. 3. Top the sauerkraut and dressing with Swiss cheese. Top with other rye bread. 4. Carefully place sandwiches in the Basket. 5. Set at 400°F for 4 minutes flip sandwiches over cook for an additional 4 minutes.

Easy Cooking Seafood Recipe

One of my favorite things to cook, is most any seafood. Below is one of my favorite recipes made with Wild Alaskan Salmon.

Why not do a great meal by Broiled Atlantic Salmon and pairing it with one of our fine wines, Chenin Blanc, Wow what a great pairing!!! We just had that this evening and I sat right down and decided I wanted to share this with the world!!!

For this buttery lemon garlic salmon recipe, you’ll need: 

  • Skin-on salmon fillet 
  • Whole lemon + lemon juice
  • Unsalted butter
  • Honey
  • Garlic
  • Kosher salt
  • Black pepper
  • Fresh parsley

You’ll first need to line your baking tray with foil; fold up the edges a bit so the garlic butter sauce doesn’t spill out. Place the salmon on the foil-lined tray, then nestle lemon slices underneath.  Put a small amount of water on the tray around the foil wrapped salmon.

In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, lemon juice, garlic, and honey. Pour most of it over the salmon, but reserve a little bit for serving. Season the salmon with salt and pepper, then fold the foil over the filets and bake. 

Bake the salmon for about 17 minutes in a sealed foil pack. Unseal it so the salmon. At this point turn on broiler mode and let the broiler crisp up the top and edges of the salmon.

The inside is so tender and juicy while the edges have a bit of crispiness — a perfect contrast. Butter infused with lemon, garlic, and a touch of honey helps give this salmon tons of flavor and keeps it extremely moist and tender.

Ingredients

  • 2 tubes refrigerated cinnamon rolls
  • 1 1/2 cups apple pie filling, I like to cut the apple slices into pieces
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup half-and-half or heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Cut each cinnamon roll in 4 pieces.
  • Spray a 6-quart slow cooker with cooking spray. Place half the cinnamon roll pieces in the bottom of the crock pot.
  • Spoon half the apple pie filling on top of the cinnamon rolls as evenly as possible.
  • Top with remaining cinnamon rolls.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together eggs, half-and-half, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla.
  • Pour mixture on top of cinnamon rolls.Spoon remaining apple pie filling on top. Cover and cook on LOW for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
  • Spread the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls on top of the casserole and serve.

What Wine for Breakfast !

When we think of wine pairing, the first thing that comes to mind is a fancy dinner or an elegant evening. However, it is essential to know that wine is not just for special occasions, and it can be enjoyed any time of day. In fact, it is time to shake things up and add some excitement to our breakfasts by pairing it with a good bottle of wine. Who says you can’t have wine for breakfast?

The Alkaline Breakfast

Avocado Salad with Cucumber, Tomato, and Egg (CATE)

Ingredients

  • 2 sliced avocados
  • 1/2 pound halved cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 1 sliced cucumber, skin on
  • 1 hard boiled egg
  • Fresh chopped cilantro
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Cucumber Dill Dressing

  • 1 Cup of chopped cucumber
  • Tablespoon Lime Juice
  • 1/4 cup avocado oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon agave

Dressing Preparation

Combine ingredients in blender and blend for 1 minute

Salad Preparation

Combine all ingredients in a large salad bowl, Pour Cucumber Dill dressing and absolutely enjoy this salad.

But there is always a way to make a meal much more enjoyable! Just add fine wine.

Pairing

I have found the perfect fine wine. This is a wine that goes well with the acidity of the Tomato, the sweetness and fatiness of the avocado, and the hint of bitterness with the almost delicate melon flavor of the cucumber. It needs to be a zesty white wine with a higher acidity to cut through these flavors. The  Sauvignon Blanc from our spectacular Wine of the Month Club is this perfect wine.
