High Hearing Frequencies (Range) in Pets
Because of their wide hearing range, pets can be more sensitive to noises we can’t even hear.
Pets get nervous and worried about sounds in part because they can hear so much better than we can.
One stressor for our pets in the home is the lighting. Fluorescent light fixtures buzz and flicker. People who work under fluorescent lights often report more eye strain, headaches, and fatigue even if we can’t perceive with our conscious minds the lighting inconsistencies.
However, our pets can consciously see and hear a fluorescent fixture buzzing and flickering, which is unpleasant to them.
Other sound stressors can include electronics such as speakers, flat screen and LCD TVs. Our modern homes are fraught with auditory distress for our pets.
