Brain Frequency

Brain Frequency, now that’s something we don’t talk about too often. But our brain is always active, sending tiny electrical signals between cells called neurons. These signals create patterns called brainwaves, and each pattern has a frequency (measured in Hertz, or Hz).

Think of it like this:
Your brain is always “tuning” itself like a radio, depending on what you’re doing, or you can think of it as

Your brain changes “gears” depending on what you’re doing.

Why Brain Frequency Matters

Your brain shifts frequencies all day long, depending on lots of different factors. Things like how you feel, what you might be doing, your environment, and even your stress level.

Have you ever noticed how your mind feels different at certain times of the day?

Sometimes it’s busy and racing. Other times it’s calm and quiet. And once in a while, it feels peaceful—like sitting on a front porch with nothing but time and a gentle breeze.

What you’re feeling in those moments is often connected to something called brain frequency.

Many people spend too much time in the fast, busy Beta state.

When that happens, it can lead

  • Stress
  • Mental fatigue
  • Feeling overwhelmed

That’s why it’s important to create moments of calm.

Simple things like sitting quietly, listening to quiet music, Spending time outdoors, and taking a break from our cell phones and computers can help your brain shift into a more relaxed state.

What Is Brain Frequency?

Your brain is always working, even when you’re asleep. It sends tiny electrical signals between cells, and those signals create patterns called brainwaves.

These brainwaves move at different speeds, known as frequencies, and they are measured in Hertz (Hz).

I bet you’ve never really thought much about these changes or gears the brain goes through, right? I know I hadn’t ever given it much thought either. Think of it like this:

When your brain changes “gears,” different things happen depending on what you’re doing.

  • Fast thinking = higher frequency
  • Calm and relaxed = slower frequency
  • Deep sleep = very slow frequency

The Main Brainwave States

There are a few basic types of brainwaves, and each one plays an important role in our day-to-day lives. Yet we really give it much thought. You may have heard these terms before, but never really knew what they meant. I know I never did until I began looking into the research for this blog. And this blog ties into other frequencies, which you can find on other blog pages within my website. Things like the frequency of clothing, frequency and cancer, and frequency and your pets. But let’s find out more here about the states of brainwaves and brain frequency.

Beta (Busy Mind)

This is your thinking state.

  • Problem-solving
  • Decision-making
  • Focused activity

We spend a lot of time here, especially in today’s fast-paced world. Here, we might even discover the feeling of brain fog. This again is a term we are hearing more and more about. It’s a real thing, and luckily, we know something to help you clear the fog. You can follow the above link to learn more about brain fog and today’s scientific discoveries.

Alpha (Calm Awareness)

This is a more relaxed state.

  • Quiet focus
  • Light relaxation
  • Being present

This is the kind of state you might feel when you step outside, take a breath, and slow down. A barefoot walk on the beach sand or maybe a walk in the snow to commune with nature. This will even lead you into Theta or deep relaxation.

Theta (Deep Relaxation)

This happens when you are:

  • Daydreaming
  • Meditating
  • Just drifting off to sleep during a great message.

This state is often linked to creativity and intuition.

Delta (Deep Sleep)

This is the slowest state.

  • Deep, restful sleep
  • Body repair and healing

This is one of the most important things for your health.

There’s More to Frequency Than Just Brainwaves

While brainwaves are something science can measure, many people also talk about emotional frequency—how our thoughts and feelings affect our overall state.

You may have heard phrases like: “positive energy”, “low energy,” “high vibration.”

These ideas are not measured the same way as brainwaves, but they help describe how we experience life.

And this is where the conversation begins to move into something deeper…

The idea that emotions like fear, stress, and even love carry their own kind of frequency.

A Front Porch Thought

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do isn’t to think harder. We need to slow down. Give our mind a moment to rest, settle, and breathe. It’s those quiet moments that we begin to notice something important. Not all of the moments feel the same, and some feel a whole lot better than others. And that’s where we’ll go next to learn more about the brain and the frequencies of the brain.

The Frequency of Love = 500

The Frequency of Love

Have you ever walked into a room and felt the energy change?

Maybe it felt heavy and tense, maybe it felt warm and peaceful, like sitting on a quiet front porch at sunset. That feeling is what many people call frequency.

Have you ever heard that love has a frequency of 500? This idea comes from a man named David R. Hawkins, who wrote the book Power vs. Force. He created a scale that gives numbers to different emotional states. This concept is currently showing up on Facebook, being taught by Mary Morrissey as a course.

On this scale, love is placed at 500, which represents a powerful shift in how we think, feel, and live.

David R. Hawkins in his book Power vs. Force.

Created a scale of emotions from low to high, based on how they feel and affect our lives.

Here are a few examples to give you some idea of what or how he rated feelings. Shame (20), Fear (100), Ager (150), Courage (200), Acceptance (350), Reason (400), and Love (500).

What It Means for Your Mind and Life

Here’s something important to understand.

This “500 frequency” is not something measured by science, like brainwaves. It is a symbolic way to describe emotional and spiritual energy. Even though it’s not measured in a lab, the effects of love on the body and mind are very real.

When we feel love, our body relaxes. Stress levels drop. Our thoughts slow down. We become more patient, more understanding, and more connected to others. It’s as if we are stepping out of a busy, noisy world into a calm place.

Life naturally moves us through many emotions. Some days feel heavy. Others feel light. The goal isn’t to stay in one perfect state. The goal is awareness, gently moving toward better-feeling states when we can.

We can do this by taking a quiet moment, choosing kindness without expectation, and slowing our thoughts. Remember that on this scale, love is placed at 500. But this isn’t love in the romantic sense. It’s something deeper. It’s the kind of love that doesn’t need anything in return.

What Happens in the Brain When We Feel Love?

When we experience love, something powerful happens. Our body relaxes, our stress decreases, our mind becomes calmer, and the brain activity shifts toward a more relaxed state. We begin to feel more at peace, we are more patient and connected.

A Front Porch Thought

Love may not be something we can measure with a number. But we sure can feel it. It’s in a kind word, a quiet moment, or simply choosing peace when everything feels busy. Sometimes the highest “frequency” we can reach is just sitting still long enough to remember what really matters.
